Description

Implementation of Functional Flexibility Training explains flexibility and why it’s important to include in programming. Understand the differences between static and dynamic stretching and the role of range of motion (ROM) in flexibility training. You’ll learn how to help clients maintain healthy ROM through various types of training, and get an overview of specific movements that can help improve flexibility. You’ll also get guidance for preworkout and postworkout stretches, enabling you to design a basic preworkout and postworkout stretch for your clients.

  • Describe range of motion (ROM) and its role in flexibility training.
  • Explain environmental and physical considerations when stretching.
  • Describe how yoga can be integrated into a flexibility training program.

About the Presenter

  • Desi Bartlett

    Desi Bartlett, MS, CPT, E-RYT, has been teaching health and wellness for over 25 years. Bartlett earned her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and her master’s degree in corporate fitness, and she is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in exercise science. She holds advanced certifications in yoga, personal training, prenatal and postnatal fitness, and group fitness. She is a continuing education provider through Yoga Alliance, the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and the National Council for Certified Personal Trainers. She is the author of Your Strong, Sexy Pregnancy and coauthor of Total Body Beautiful.
