Description

Race-Day Nutrition for Ultraendurance Athletes will describe the primary metabolic pathways involved in ultraendurance sport, with an emphasis on substrate utilization. Presenter Trace Cruz provides evidence-based guidance to ensure balanced and safe protocols, drawing upon his personal and professional experiences in developing and using effective nutrition techniques to maximize performance during ultraendurance activities. You’ll gain a greater understanding of the bioenergetic rationale for carbohydrate, electrolyte, and fluid consumption and will delve into energy demands and limits of energy intake. You’ll also get information on common topics for endurance athletes, including muscle cramps, “bonking,” and GI distress and will explore the potential benefits and drawbacks of the use of ergogenic aids like caffeine or NSAIDs.
